We all carry an inner child within us who longs to be seen, loved, and heard.

To reconnect with this part of yourself, start by finding a picture of yourself as a child—especially from a time when you may have faced challenges. For example, I experienced a lot of trauma at age five, so I use a photo of my five-year-old self.

Create a sacred space for this practice and set aside 15 minutes. Here’s how to begin:

Ritual #2

Let's Play

How to do this ritual

  • Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you can be undisturbed. Light a candle to make the moment feel special.

Set The Scene

01

Look at the photo of your younger self and ask:
  • What did I want to be seen for?
  • What did I need to hear?
  • What were my favorite songs or movies?

Reflect on Your Inner Child

02

Start talking to your inner child: What do you want to do today? Plan a “playdate” with her. Some ideas include:
  • Swinging at a park, rolling down a hill, building a snowman, or jumping into a pile of leaves.
  • Coloring, painting, writing poetry, or taking a bubble bath.

Reconnect and Play
